About 3 years ago I started a program of cardio workouts. In addition I used the services of a personal trainer 3 time per week. Karan is a legitimate, knowledgeable trainer who will cater to your needs. I’ve been working with him for a few years and even on the days I don’t want to train he will make sure I’m there. Waking up and seeing yourself in the mirror is daunting for a lot of people, but no matter what state your body is in, he will ensure you get to your goal body. I would highly recommend working with him as he will also draw out a meal plan and will not rush anything. I’ve never had an injury training with him and he takes this very seriously. I trained with Karan 3x a week for a month while I stopped in San Jose, I was looking to build a new habits, get momentum going and ultimately feel stronger and fitter. Karan had a great attitude and really paid attention to the troubles I’ve had with my knees altering the sessions and plan as required, his sessions challenged me at times but as a result of pushing me I’d started feeling stronger in the weeks I worked with him. When our sessions came to an end, Karan created a workout plan for me that took into consideration my knees and was easy enough for me to follow on my own. I started training with Karan over 2 months ago. Since then, I’ve been happy with the progress and results we have made! In 2-3 weeks, I lost inches and went down about 2 percent in body fat. We are targeting areas I would like to see tighter and the results are telling us it is working. I like how we are tracking progress with measurements for us to see what needs to be done. I learned that I don’t need to be dripping sweat or doing high intensity cardio to trim down, which is huge for me because I thought I did. Karan is a great trainer, let’s start there. He really puts the ‘personal’ in personal trainer. I hadn’t had much time at the gym I typically go because my wife had a baby and we haven’t had the time to workout. We knew Karan already and figured he could whip us into shape. That’s exactly what he’s doing the last few weeks. He’s able to get us a good workout even though my wife and I are at different fitness levels. Karan has been my personal trainer since April 2012. When I met him, I had just lost 15 lbs but my cholesterol was still really high and I needed help to keep the weight off, lower my cholesterol and focus on strength training. At the end of last school year I realized I had gained a significant amount of weight, so I decided to join Gold’s Gym. I knew I would not go to the gym regularly unless there was someone to guide and support me. Gold’s Gym gave me a binder with all the personal trainers who help their clients at the gym. I needed to take a year off of weight lifting due to a personal problem – that had nothing to do with the last trainer. (end of 2012 nearly all through 2013). I read Karan’s Yelp reviews and thought to myself this is exactly who I am looking for… and you may ask why…. Throughout the many years of going to the gym watching other trainers and taking these “cross-fit” classes I watched many people injure themselves even with their trainers and especially going to cross-fit classes. Some injuries were so bad I watched the person being taken away in an ambulance. Not cool. Don’t get me wrong, I want a trainer to push me (that’s why we pay them…Right?) but only to the point where I am not overly straining myself and hurting myself to make it through to the last rep in the set. Karan is one of the top trainers I have ever been too. He’s always full of energy! Doesn’t rush you, but keeps you on tract. Very consistent with the routines never boring. Karan not only works with people how need weight loss and getting you into shape, but he also works in strength training (and I am sure Karan works in many more areas of the body I don’t know about – personally I just need strength training/muscle building). I think this is my fourth week and I can totally see my little “guns” re-appearing! When you see results that fast, you know the trainer “Karan” knows what he is doing. I recently found out that Karan travels to other gyms around Santa Clara County, so he just doesn’t work in the San Jose area! I started working with Karan just over a year ago. The goal was to get back into shape and strengthen my back muscles following 16 hours of cervical surgery and a long recovery period.

We had to start slowly and stay within my limitation-30 minutes, 2 days a week. Karan used his extensive knowledge and patience of dealing with re-hap situations to my advantage. He was most willing to incorporate suggestions from the physical therapist to address my specific nerve- entrapment issues and limited mobility, suggested by my pain-management doctor, into our regime. Now, I am up to an hour workout, 3 days a week. I have regained my strength and improved my flexibility and the plus is a loss of over 50 pounds. My doctor is very happy with my continued progress and my physical therapist has asked for Karan’s name should such a coordinative effort be benifit to her current or future patients as she calls me a “miracle”.

I must be honest and say that when I started with Karan, I was less than enthusastic. My husband had met and personally trained with Karan at the San Jose Athlethic Club and he told Karan about me. That is how Karan came into my life. That first day, I was scared. I had had several bad experiences with trainers who pushed me and I suffered injuries. Now, after the surgeries, I was scared, an injury at this point would be devistating.

AND TO BE HONEST- I had always thought exercise was a necessary evil. But, Karan was different. He really knows his stuff. He was understanding of my misgivings about my past experiences; my fearfulness of being injured; and my total dislike of being pushed beyond my capabilities. He said it would be no problem-and he has kept that promise.

That was the agreement we made when we started and it has continuted to this day. Every session is varied, depending on my physical situation on that day-but whatever that is, it is fun. I NEVER knew exercise could be fun, but with Karan, it is.

I now look forward to opening the door and seeing him come through and seeing what he has in store for me that day. I love all the compliments I am getting as to how wonderful I look and I especially love going to my closet and pulling out all the favorite clothes I have not worn for years and having them fit beautifully.
